However, I was shocked not by this video alone, I was truly flabbergasted by the following fact:
Turns out it is legal to beat children in Florida (at least at some counties)! So let's remember that next time we hear people advocating for the states' rights and the freedom from the tyranny of federal government.

Some school districts allow corporal punishment, but the Hendry County School District does not.
Turns out it is legal to beat children in Florida (at least at some counties)! So let's remember that next time we hear people advocating for the states' rights and the freedom from the tyranny of federal government.

Polling in the states suggests a majority of Texans do not support unlicensed carry, with 59% of those polled in a University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll saying they oppose the policy.
Тобто навіть в такий дрібниці проблема не в тому, що більшість нав'язала свою волю меншості. Усе з точністю навпаки - завдяки проблемам з виборчою системою, меншість отримує непропорційну владу.

Date: 2021-05-06 07:54 pm (UTC)ну ось я і кажу, що проблема "більшість зможе нав'язати щось погане" - перебільшена, а ось "меншість нав'язує щось погане, ховаючись за правами штатів" - це проблема, яка дійсно існує, і на рівні штатів, і на рівні федеральному (та ж сама проблема з нормальними background checks при продажу зброї).
