as tijd pointed out, it is incorrect to say "pogroms" (погроми) instead of "looting".

There is a difference between looting (the act of stealing, or the taking of goods by force) and pogrom (a violent riot incited with the aim of massacring or expelling an ethnic or religious group, particularly Jews.)

That's a meaningful and important distinction and I am guilty of using the wrong term more than once. The correction was well-deserved. Don't repeat my mistake.
