Oklahoma's public school history teachers will soon be required to teach the disproved conspiracy theory that the Democratic Party stole the 2020 presidential election from President Donald Trump.
The Republican-led state's new high school history curriculum says students must learn how to dissect the results of the 2020 election, including learning about alleged mail-in voter fraud, "an unforeseen record number of voters" and "security risks of mail-in balloting."

Students must be able to "identify discrepancies in 2020 elections results by looking at graphs and other information, including the sudden halting of ballot-counting in select cities in key battleground states, the security risks of mail-in balloting, sudden batch dumps, an unforeseen record number of voters, and the unprecedented contradiction of ‘bellwether county’ trends," the new standard reads.

The new curriculum also removed a prior proposal for lessons about George Floyd's murder and Black Lives Matter, and teaches as fact the hotly contested theory that COVID-19 emerged from a lab leak.

Є, звичайно, але навіть у вчителях (менше) і вже точно в дітях воно цілком співіснує з існуванням священних корів, до яких науковий метод не застосуєш -- як тому, що питання це не наукові (дякувати богу, у нас не пробують вчити креаціонізм або щось настільки ж антиматеріалістичне), так і тому, що в достатньо ідеологічно обтяженому питанні якісь речі надто легко відкинути до того, як є шанс той метод застосувати в присутності достатньо ідеологічно заангажованих людей.

І між "є погані школи, є хороші, є певні проблеми серед дітей/батьків" та "нормальних шкіл просто немає, бо є тоталітарний закон" - різниця принципова, навіть якісна, не просто кількісна.

Я про те, що це дві різні проблеми. Я зараз пишу про те, як люди всередині школи, вважай, навіть не люди, а учні (вчителі впливають опосередковано) ставляться одне до одного в питаннях, привʼязаних до ідеології, віри і т. д. Ця проблема потенційно ортогональна
Може бути тоталітарний закон, а стосунки всередині школи не бути ідеологізованими (пізній совок), може не бути закону, а в школі цькуватимуть за відмову кричати "від ріки до моря" або визнати себе нащадком рабовласників лише за колір шкіри. Не знаю, за що зараз цькують в школах штатів з реакційно-правими законами, 30 років тому цькували за альтернативну сексуальність і не ту (в плані локальної репрезентації) расу чи культуру. Ну так в ліво-ліберальних з точки зору будь-якого heartland-американця школах Каліфорнії теж умудряються за це цькувати, лише підбірка непопулярних рас і культур тохи інша.

Ні, в 13-5 років, в силу підліткового максималізму і впливу гормонів на ідеї - окей таке казати. Але до людей середнього віку ми тут ставимося більш прискіпливо. :)
