Oklahoma's public school history teachers will soon be required to teach the disproved conspiracy theory that the Democratic Party stole the 2020 presidential election from President Donald Trump.
The Republican-led state's new high school history curriculum says students must learn how to dissect the results of the 2020 election, including learning about alleged mail-in voter fraud, "an unforeseen record number of voters" and "security risks of mail-in balloting."

Students must be able to "identify discrepancies in 2020 elections results by looking at graphs and other information, including the sudden halting of ballot-counting in select cities in key battleground states, the security risks of mail-in balloting, sudden batch dumps, an unforeseen record number of voters, and the unprecedented contradiction of ‘bellwether county’ trends," the new standard reads.

The new curriculum also removed a prior proposal for lessons about George Floyd's murder and Black Lives Matter, and teaches as fact the hotly contested theory that COVID-19 emerged from a lab leak.

Date: 2025-08-12 09:07 pm (UTC)"Всюди гірше" -- це слова дитини про наш штат vs решту країни. І це стосується макроклімату -- якісь умови, які в Каліфорнії життя ускладнюють, в інших штатах можуть життя унеможливити.
А так доводиться робити вибір. Я почав серйозно думати про варіант переїзду, якраз виглядало, що зможу собі дозволити без того, щоби піддати дітей іншим небажаним ефектам, але то було до війни. Потенційно зібраний за останні три роки down payment на житло в кращому кутку регіону було витрачено на різні потреби, повʼязані з війною, так було правильно.

Це я як раз розумію - переїзд навіть в нормальних умовах це важко, а під час війни - тим більше. Мало хто на це йде, навіть маючи фізичну можливість - і це норм.

Date: 2025-08-12 11:08 pm (UTC)Я саме про це. Це одна з основних проблем при переїзді. Я бачив багато людей, які повертались з територій, що контролює Україна в окупований Луганськ - тому що там власне житло.
Коли є діти, домашні улюбленці, старі батьки - решта питань різко стають менш важливими, навіть якщо в майбутньому є шанс жити краще, ніж зараз. Саме тому я і не можу казати "живіть декілька років в гірших умовах заради світлого майбутнього" - на реально здатні одиниці відсотків (навіть якщо це фізично доступно абсолютної більшості).

Date: 2025-08-12 11:58 pm (UTC)Так, плюс ще той момент, що існують умови, за яких "перетерпіти" не завжди реалістично, бо якісь фактори не перетерплюються. Типу, не всякий зможе 3 хвилини почекати під водою, щоби потім стало добре -- хтось зможе, а хтось втопиться

Хоча, звичайно, якщо прискіпуватися, то буде не "всюди гірше", а "перважно гірше, місцями так само", а гірше стане за рахунок впливів переїзду на нове місце
